About

The word Pancha means five in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is a classical language from the Indo-European language family that influenced most modern languages in India, in the same way that Latin influenced the Romance languages.  Pancha Yoga was born with the five basic tenets of a yoga lifestyle in mind. Perfection is a lonely aim, and certainly not what Pancha Yoga is about. We are simply doing our best to live daily lives the best we can.  By remembering to make our health a priority by bringing awareness to these five elements each day, will bring a new calm and balance to our lives.  The five elements are Exercise, Breathing, Relaxation, Diet, and Meditation.

Pancha Yoga was founded in the spring of 2012 to offer fun, accessible, and empowering yoga and paddleboarding programs based on the five Pancha principles.  This summer Pancha Yoga will be offering paddleboard yoga classes twice a week on Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings as well as Tabata beach workouts on Tuesday mornings.  The paddleboard yoga classes are great for those looking to exercise on the water in beautiful surroundings and become better yogis, surfers, paddlers, or athletes, and the Tabata classes are great classes to get in shape quick.  Pancha Yoga can also set up private yoga instruction for individuals as well as groups and organizations or companies.  Come join us this summer!

Shauna Fraser

Shauna started Pancha Yoga in the spring of 2012 after spending the winter training to teach yoga at the Himalaya Valley Yoga Centre in Goa, India, with the idea of combining yoga and paddleboarding on the beautiful summer waters around New England.  Shauna aims to make yoga and paddleboarding accessible, social, fun, and rewarding, and leads both the paddleboard yoga and the Tabata beach workouts, and is available for private lessons as well.
